INSTITUTION MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility (CVCTF) is to provide minimum custody offenders, and offenders placed there as an alternative to revocation, with specific programming to address their needs in the substance abuse area. This will be accomplished by using a wide range of professionals to delivery specific modules of treatment and by developing a facility-wide culture of reinforcement for positive behavior. Our goal is to facilitate reintegration to the community with a greater chance of succeeding.
INSTITUTION INFORMATION Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility (CVCTF) is the latest Wisconsin correctional institution to place in action the progressive philosophy of alcohol and other drugs of abuse (AODA) recovery through treatment. Transferred from the Northern Wisconsin Center (NWC) to the Department of Corrections, Division of Adult Institutions, under the original name of Highview the four-story facility underwent extensive remodeling in 2003 – 2004.
Located in Chippewa Falls, the facility began to accept its first offenders on April 20, 2004. The all-male, minimum-security institution is designed to resolve the specific needs of offenders with alcohol and other drug abuse problems. The facility reserves 300 beds for treatment while 150 beds are maintained for workers within and outside the facility. Of the 300 treatment beds, 35 provide an ATR resource to DCC for ATR offenders essential program needs and to avoid their being sent or returned to prison.
CVCTF engages selectively appropriate offenders in community endeavors. Some recent projects have included offender participation in Farm Progress Days, the Humane Society, and Badger State Industries.
Coupled with corrections, CVCTF offers offenders the opportunity to satisfy their obligations to the State while building personal recovery foundations for themselves and their families.
