2nd Quarter JCIP Participation Results
( April – June, 2004)

Beginning January 2004, the Division is refining its tracking of how many youth participate in, and complete, the Juvenile Cognitive Intervention Program.  Youth in the Juvenile Correctional Institutions may participate in Phase I and II while youth in community placement with DJC aftercare may participate in Phase III.  By compiling data on a quarterly basis, the Division hopes to observe any trends that will support continuous improvement in delivery of this vital program.

In the chart below, the number of youth completing a particular phase of JCIP is independent of those completing another phase.  For example, between April and June, 2004 at Lincoln Hills School, eleven youth completed both Phase I and II.  Another ten youth completed Phase 1 and an additional two youth completed Phase II.  Please note also that Institutions vary in the sequencing of JCIP groups so "completion" numbers in any given time period is relative to the individual institution. Data should not be compared across institutions.
