Secretary Raemisch Announces Warden Appointments

Four Wardens Bring Talents to Different Institutions;
Search is Underway for Remaining Vacancy

MADISON – Department of Corrections (DOC) Secretary Rick Raemisch today announced four current Wardens will be moving to new institutions this month.

“All four of these Wardens are talented and respected leaders who add value to the institutions they oversee,” Secretary Raemisch said. “Given the increasing complexity in corrections and in prison management, I am pleased they are broadening their experiences and taking on new challenges at new locations. I am confident they will continue to lead with professionalism and dedication.”

The following changes take effect Jan. 20:

Larry Jenkins, currently Warden of the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution (KMCI), will become Warden of the Redgranite Correctional Institution (RGCI). Jenkins replaces former Warden Jeff Endicott, who retired in December 2007. Both facilities are medium-security.

Ana Boatwright, currently Warden of the Wisconsin Women’s Correctional System (WWCS) based at Taycheedah Correctional Institution (TCI), will become Warden of the New Lisbon Correctional Institution (NLCI). NLCI is a medium-security facility.

Current NLCI Warden Tim Lundquist will become Warden of the maximum-security Dodge Correctional Institution (DCI).

Current DCI Warden Cathy Jess will become the new WWCS Warden. She will oversee TCI, which holds maximum-and medium-security inmates, and will oversee three minimum-security women’s facilities.

Jenkins will remain Interim Warden at KMCI until a permanent successor is named.

“Wardens Jenkins, Boatwright, Lundquist and Jess are tremendous leaders, and their talents and commitment will further advance our Department’s mission of public safety,” Secretary Raemisch said. “I look forward to working with them in their new executive roles.”
