MADISON – Department of Corrections (DOC) Secretary Rick Raemisch
announced today that he has appointed Bradley Hompe as Warden of Stanley
Correctional Institution (SCI) and Pamela J. Wallace as Warden of the
Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility (CVCTF).
“Both Bradley Hompe and Pamela Wallace bring extensive experience and
knowledge to their management roles, each having built a strong track
record of leadership and distinguished public service,” Secretary Raemisch
said. “I am confident that both Wardens will bring their respective
facilities to a new level in the safe, effective and cost-efficient
management of offenders.”
SCI and CVCTF play crucial roles in the DOC’s prison system. SCI, which
opened in 2002, is a medium-security adult male prison that manages more
than 1,500 inmates through programming, treatment and reintegration
efforts. The CVCTF opened in 2004 as the state’s first prison dedicated
primarily to providing alcohol or other drug abuse (AODA) treatment, with
a population of 450 male inmates. Despite their large inmate populations
and staffs, the institutions previously have shared a warden since CVCTF
opened in 2004.
“This realignment further solidifies each institution’s importance
across our prison system,” Secretary Raemisch said. “Stanley ranks among
the largest medium-security facilities in our system, and the Chippewa
Valley facility specializes in alcohol and drug abuse treatment. Their
missions are unique but equally important, and this realignment will add
value to our system overall.”
Hompe began his DOC career in 1995, advancing through the ranks of
correctional officer, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, unit supervisor and
deputy warden. He has work experience in both male and female
institutions, including the Winnebago Correctional Center, Kettle Moraine
Correctional Institution, Waupun Correctional Institution, Taycheedah
Correctional Institution, Wisconsin Secure Program Facility, Racine
Correctional Institution and, most recently, as SCI’s Deputy Warden. He
earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Psychology from Winona
State University in Minnesota and a master’s degree in Public
Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Wallace began her DOC career in 1991, advancing through the ranks of
correctional officer, sergeant, supervising officer, unit supervisor,
administrative captain, security director and deputy warden. She has prior
experience at the Racine Correctional Institution and the Racine Youthful
Offender Correctional Facility. She became Warden of CVCTF and SCI in
September 2005. She attended Gateway Technical College in Kenosha and the
Madison Area Technical College in Madison.
