The Office of Victim Services & Programs is committed to mitigating the effects of crime and advancing the principles and philosophy of restorative justice. It is our mission to address the needs of crime victims, their families and the community through a variety of available services.

The Office of Victim Services and Programs will:

  • Provide comprehensive information, assistance, advocacy, and support to those harmed by crime including victims, their families, and communities;
  • Integrate victims’ rights and services into program planning throughout the Department of Corrections; and
  • Develop community partnerships to advance victims’ rights and the principles of restorative justice.
  • Develop and maintain a resource center dedicated to victim services/issues and restorative justice

Victim Advocates are available Monday through Friday to provide assistance, either in person or by phone. Services include answering questions about the criminal justice system, providing victims with information about the offender who committed the crime against them, advocating for victims’ rights, supporting victims in their healing, and referring victims to other professionals in the community for assistance. Staff is also available to provide training on crime victim issues and restorative justice initiatives to community groups.

For more information about victim services please visit the Department of Corrections’ Victim Web site, "VOICE for Victims", at www.WIVictimsVOICE.org. Here you will find helpful information including answers to frequently asked questions, definitions of commonly used terms, links to other resources, and information about the criminal justice system. Enrolled victims will be able to access specific offender information using their 10-digit Victim ID number.

You may speak to a Victim Advocate by calling 1-800-947-5777 during normal business hours. At other times, you may leave a confidential message and staff will return your call. You may also write to us at:
