Goal: To create and maintain
an up-to-date Department-wide strategic information system. The Bureau strives to
achieve this goal and provide proven information technology solutions that maximize the
efficient utilization of the Department's hardware and software investments in support of
customer services by:
- Implementing and managing the Strategic Information
Technology Plan that will support the Department’s business needs.
- Applying technology throughout the Department to enhance
public safety and improve program outcomes and internal/external communications.
- Establishing policies, standards, and procedures for the
effective installation and operation of information technology systems.
- Identifying information technology systems, equipment, and
applications that meet the needs of the Department and its organizational units.
- Providing the resources to equip staff to effectively use
technology to improve their ability to deliver correctional services.
- Ensuring that all Department units comply with Department
IT policies and standards.
- Provide proven information technology solutions that
maximize the efficient utilization of the department's hardware and software investments
in support of customer services.
