Out-of-State Televisiting Information

The Department of Corrections strives to provide meaningful opportunities to offenders and their visitors to maintain contact during an offender’s confinement in an out-of-state placement. To accomplish this, Televisiting opportunities are currently being offered at Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (MSDF), Columbia Correctional Institution (CCI) and Racine Correctional Institution (RCI)

SCHEDULING OF TELEVISITS

Scheduling of visits must be made at least two (2) weeks in advance of visit. The maximum number of visitors permitted for a Televisit is five (5), including minor children. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. All visitors must be on the inmate’s approved Visitor List.

RCI

To schedule a Televisit at RCI, the visitor must call RCI’s Televisiting Coordinator at (262) 886 – 7837 on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to schedule a Televisiting appointment.

CCI

To schedule a Televisit at CCI, the visitor must call CCI’s Televisiting Coordinator at (608) 742 - 9123 Tuesday –Saturday between 12:00 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. or on Thursday or Fridays between 7:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. to schedule a Televisiting appointment.

MSDF

To schedule a Televisit at MSDF, the visitor must call MSDF’s Televisiting Coordinator at (414) 212-3535.

 

IDENTIFICATION

All adult visitors, including minors age 16 or older, must provide a current form of identification. There will be no exceptions for expired ID’s. The only acceptable forms of identification include:

  • A STATE OF WISCONSIN DRIVER’S LICENSE
  • A STATE OF WISCONSIN PICTURE IDENTIFICATION CARD
  • A CURRENT PASSPORT
  • DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PICTURE IDENTIFICATION CARD.
  • AN OUT OF STATE LICENSE OR STATE IDENTIFICATION CARD, IF RESIDING OUT OF THE STATE AT THE TIME.
  • A MILITARY IDENTIFICATION CARD (IF CURRENTLY IN ACTIVE SERVICE)

BELOW IS A LIST OF INAPPROPRIATE ATTIRE:

  1. Transparent clothing
  2. Shorts that are shorter than fingertip length: visitor standing naturally with arms straight down the side of the body with fingers extended.
  3. Skirts or dress slits shorter than fingertip length, plus three inches with hands down at the side.
  4. Strapless, tube or halter-tops.
  5. Tops which expose the midriff area (no bare skin at the belt line).
  6. Spandex/Lycra or like material
  7. Clothing or accessories with obscene or profane writings, images, or photos, and any clothing bearing alcohol advertisements.
  8. Bib overalls are not allowed.
  9. Multi-layer jackets may not be worn into Visiting Area.

All visitors will be required to clear a metal detector.

It is the responsibility of the person wishing to enter the institution to take the necessary steps to enable himself/herself to pass through the metal detector. Staff will instruct visitors to remove required items like; coats, hats, any kind of hair pins/clips or barrettes. (This is to be removed prior to passing through the metal detector so that the staff member can inspect them for contraband).
